During May 9-11, 2024, the Military Technical Academy "Ferdinand I" of Bucharest hosted the National Student Mathematics Contest "Traian Lalescu" 2024. Over 100 first and second-year students, representing 14 Romanian universities had participated in the contest. In addition to the prizes, mentions, and special mentions awarded by the Ministry of Education, the Military Technical Academy "Ferdinand I" of Bucharest also offered special prizes. The XVIIIth South Eastern European Mathematical Olympiad SEEMOUS 2024, for first and second year university students, took place in Iaşi, România, on April 9 - 14, 2024. Students coming from 24 universities of Franţa, Grecia, Macedonia de Nord, România, Turkmenistan attended this competition.
All POLITEHNICA Bucureşti students were awarded: three gold medals and three silver medals. The student Horia Mercan was the absolute winner, with the highest score. The POLITEHNICA Bucureşti students and their awards are as follows:

The XVIIth South Eastern European Mathematical Olympiad SEEMOUS 2023, for first and second year university students, took place in Struga, North Macedonia, on March 7-12, 2023. Students coming from 24 universities of Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia, România and Turkmenistan attended this competition. The 23rd International Mathematics Competition for University Students took place in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, on 28 July - 3 August 2019. It was organized by University College of London and hosted by the American University in Bulgaria.
