STUDENT COMPETITIONS 12.05.2024 Awards for POLITEHNICA Bucureşti students at Traian Lalescu 2024 During May 9-11, 2024, the Military Technical Academy "Ferdinand I" of Bucharest hosted the National Student Mathematics Contest "Traian Lalescu" 2024. Over 100 first and second-year students, representing 14 Romanian universities had participated in the contest. In addition to the prizes, mentions, and special mentions awarded by the Ministry of Education, the Military Technical Academy "Ferdinand I" of Bucharest also offered special prizes. The students of the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest won 11 prizes, 4 mentions, 1 special mention, and 1 special prize, as follows:

The students were coordinated by the following faculty members: Lecturer Dr. Negrescu Alexandru (Section B), Lecturer Dr. Matei Laura (Section C), Lecturer Dr. Purnichescu-Purtan Raluca (Section D), and Lecturer Dr. Pîrvan Monica (Section E). Special mentions go to Associate Professor Dr. Petrescu-Niţă Alina, Lecturer Dr. Cipu Corina, Lecturer Dr. Dinu Simona, and Lecturer Dr. Pricop-Jeckstadt Mihaela, who were involved in preparing the students and the pre-national stage.
13.04.2024 Gold and silver medals for POLITEHNICA Bucureşti students at SEEMOUS 2024
The XVIIIth South Eastern European Mathematical Olympiad SEEMOUS 2024, for first and second year university students, took place in Iaşi, România, on April 9 - 14, 2024. Students coming from 24 universities of Franţa, Grecia, Macedonia de Nord, România, Turkmenistan attended this competition.
All POLITEHNICA Bucureşti students were awarded: three gold medals and three silver medals. The student Horia Mercan was the absolute winner, with the highest score. The POLITEHNICA Bucureşti students and their awards are as follows:

09.03.2023 Gold and silver medals for UPB students at SEEMOUS 2023
The XVIIth South Eastern European Mathematical Olympiad SEEMOUS 2023, for first and second year university students, took place in Struga, North Macedonia, on March 7-12, 2023. Students coming from 24 universities of Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia, România and Turkmenistan attended this competition. All UPB students were awarded: three gold medals and three silver medals. The UPB team thus ranked first among the participating universities. The UPB students and their awards are as follows:

24.07.2021 Silver and bronze medals for UPB students at SEEMOUS 2021 The XVth South Eastern European Mathematical Olympiad SEEMOUS 2021, for first and second year university students, took place in Agros, Cyprus, on 19-24 July 2021. Students coming from ten universities of three countries attended this competition. All three UPB students were awarded: two silver medals and one bronze medal, as follows:.
